Cheeky Design Month - It's a little 'On The Nose'
Today's Cheeky Design ideas may not seem readily obvious, though they are 'obvious' design trends.
What are you talking about Amy?
When I look at "Cheeky Design", sometimes the 'cheeky-ist' spaces are ones that deliberately exploit current design trends. I like to call them 'On the Nose' spaces - no negativity intended, they are simply 'obvious' spaces.
So what exactly is 'On the Nose' design?
I'm so glad you asked! (well, you didn't, but let's pretend you did ;-P ) To me, 'On The Nose' design is things like mirrored settings on either side of a fireplace, matching table lamps flanking a sofa or bed, or using the same colour for 90% of the items in the room. These are beautiful spaces (when done right) and are great examples of how a designer's eye can help pull a room together.
I'd love to hear what you think about these spaces! Could you live in an all black room? Are you daring enough to try a bold graphic tile on your floor? Are you a matching-table-lamps kind of person or do you like to shake it up? Share in the comments below! And remember friends, this is a judgement-free zone so if you really do love the tone on tone, 18 shades of white space - good on ya!
Love spaces like these but not sure how to work them into your home? Let's work together and create a home you love! Now booking interior design sessions in Calgary, Chestermere, Okotoks & Cochrane areas.
